About GLP-1 Starter

GLP-1 Starter is for the week before the first dose. Most writing about these medicines assumes you already know what a titration ladder is, what a label says, and why nausea shows up on day two. This site assumes none of that and stops once you do.

What the site covers

Three sections. Start here explains what the medicines are, who the four FDA labels describe, how a prescriber reaches a decision, the difference between brand and compounded products, what to ask, and how cost and insurance work. Week by week covers the first injection and weeks 1 to 12 in three stretches, plus the trial curves that everyone quotes and a planner that turns your start date into a dated calendar. Guides cover the practical problems that arrive with a smaller appetite: food, fluids, and the symptoms that mean you call someone, plus a check of common claims and a glossary.

It deliberately does not go deep on any one molecule, on pharmacology, on trial design or on the long-term phase. Who runs it

The site is written and maintained by the FormBlends editorial team, which also publishes formblends.com. FormBlends operates a GLP-1 weight-loss program that dispenses compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide through licensed pharmacies. That is a commercial interest and it is disclosed here, on the medical disclaimer, on the brand versus compounded page, and on every page that links to a FormBlends product. Compounded GLP-1s are not FDA approved and are not interchangeable with Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic or Mounjaro; this site says so wherever the distinction matters.

How pages are sourced

• Label facts come from the current prescribing information on DailyMed for Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic and Mounjaro, cited by section number. When a label changes, the page changes and its updated date moves.
• Trial facts come from the primary publication, cited by PubMed id: STEP 1 (33567185) and SURMOUNT-1 (35658024) for the main numbers, the STEP 1 extension (35441470) and SURMOUNT-4 (38078870) for what happens after stopping.
• Regulatory statements come from FDA pages, with the date the page was accessed.
• Nutrition figures that are not in any label (the protein range, the water adequate intake) are cited to the review or reference body they come from and labelled as not being label figures.
• Numbers this site cannot trace to one of those sources are not published. In particular, it does not print week-by-week weight percentages, because the trial papers do not tabulate them.

The two tools

The label population checker computes BMI and reports, in the labels' own words, whether your numbers match the population each label describes. It never says you qualify, because that is a prescriber's decision after a history, an exam and the contraindication check. The week-by-week planner lays out the brand label titration schedule from your start date and pairs each week with what the label and the pivotal trial say about it. It never chooses a dose; when it and your prescription disagree, the prescription wins.

Both run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored. The maths is a small library with automated tests that run before every deployment, the formula is printed under each tool, and each carries an assumptions note with the date its sources were last checked.

Editorial rules

No reviews, testimonials, star ratings or named clinicians. No claim of medical review that did not happen. Plain sentences, second person, and no filler. Where this site covers ground formblends.com also covers, it is written fresh from the labels and the trials rather than copied.
